[Met-jobs] PhD position Surface Ocean CO2 Reanalysis

We are recruiting a PhD student at AWI, apply by February 17th.

In the project SOCRA (Surface Ocean CO2 ReAnalysis), we combine the benefits of ocean circulation and biogeochemical models and observational data through data assimilation.

The goal of the project is to produce a global reanalysis product of surface ocean CO2 and air- sea CO2 flux. This product will then be used to quantify the mean, trend, and variability of the ocean carbon sink on a regional and global level. We will apply ensemble data assimilation provided by the framework PDAF to integrate the observational information into the ocean circulation and biogeochemistry model FESOM2-REcoM2.
