[Met-jobs] Funded PhD in polar stratospheric gravity waves, to start as soon as possible

We are currently advertising for a PhD student to work on gravity wave
propagation in the polar regions in observations and models at the University
of Bath, UK, *to start as soon as possible* - preferably by sometime in April,
but there is a little wiggle room on that.

This PhD is part of a Royal Society funded project to better understand the
dynamics and effects of gravity waves in polar regions, including their
interactions with clouds, chemistry and (topically right now!) sudden
stratospheric warmings. It will involve using new software tools we have
developed at Bath, novel observational data from our collaborators at Juelich
in Germany and from the European Space Agency, and model output from several
models.

Further details are available at

. Unfortunately, we can only fund UK home students (this does not mean you
need to have a UK passport - you may also be eligible if you've e.g. studied at
a UK University recently). I'm also very happy to answer queries by email.
