"Characterization of wind and turbulence profile spatiotemporal variability in the Paris Region Atmospheric Boundary Layer for Air Quality, Urban Meteorology and future local airborne transport applications."
The PhD project will take place in an international context that include two major field experiments to take place in Summer 2022 in Paris. The PhD work will include instrument deployment and measurements, development of retrieval methods to interpret Scanning Doppler Lidar measurements, and analysis of long measurement time series to better understand dynamical and turbulent processes occurring in the atmospheric boundary layer. The work will be supported through collaborations with researchers that have expertise in various fields (remote sensing measurements, mathematical methods, boundary layer processes, atmospheric modeling, ...) and in particular with scientists from the company Leosphere.
The PhD scholarship is sponsored by the Paris Region and the company Leosphere. The position will be located at Ecole polytechnique (IPP graduate school).
