The Group of Atmospheric Optics, University of Valladolid (Spain) is seeking aPostdoctoral researcher
to work on remote sensing of aerosols and water vapor in polar regions. The position is part of a project entitled "Enhanced synergetic retrieval of Aerosols, Clouds and Water Vapor properties in Arctic and Antarctic Regions (ePOLAAR)" which aims at improving the methodologies and algorithms for the determination of the physical and radiative properties of aerosols, clouds and water vapor and its application to Polar Regions, both Arctic and Antarctic.
We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to work with the data that are being measured at several polar sites with remote sensing instrumentation (photometer, ceilometer, lidar, solar radiation, all-sky camera), as well as satellite data. The research is performed in close collaboration with several international partners and contributing to observation networks like AERONET, ACTRIS and SIOS.
The position is initially for two years, starting as soon as possible.
Applicants should have a PhD in meteorology or atmospheric physics and ideally have a strong background in aerosols, remote sensing, inversion algorithms, etc. The candidate should be willing to present the results at international conferences and to publish in peer-review journals. Fluent English in written and oral form is required.
