At the Department of Environment Sciences at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, working group Atmospheric Processes, we offer a full-time permanent position as technician. Payment will be in accordance with TV-L E11. Research activities: Our research addresses atmospheric boundary layer processes (microscale) and their coupling to the larger scale atmosphere (mesoscale, macroscale). We focus on land surface-atmosphere interactions, particularly in the field of energy-, water and carbon cycle as well as regional climate change applying a broad range of methodologies (in-situ measurements, GIS / remote sensing, numerical modeling). For this purpose, the working group operates its own measuring systems and has its own IT infrastructure. We offer the opportunity to become part of an international team and to jointly work and support national and international projects. Responsibilities: The tasks include support, expansion and further development of the measurement equipment, e.g. optimization of meteorological measurement technology and the independent planning of the technical instrumentation, technical support in teaching, e.g. praperation and support in practical modules and exercises, administration and maintenance of the IT infrastructure of the working group. Requirements: The successful candidate hold a scientific degree (university Diploma / Bachelor / equivalent) in the study field of Meteorology, Geography or related environmental sciences with the focus on Climatology, or equivalent. Fundamental knowledge in the installation and maintanance of meteorological measurement equipment, knowledge in the field of electrics / electronics, solid programming skills, knowledge in the field of IT-infrastructure and knowledge in the field of atmospheric sciences are required.
