A full-time position is available for 36 months (at salary point F32) with a negotiable start date of 3 rd August 2020 in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. The project will use the eruption of Holuhraun in Iceland during 2014 to further the research of Malavelle et al. (2017, Nature) on aerosol-cloud-climate interactions. Satellite remote sensing and surface based observations will be used in conjunction with two general circulation models with very different aerosol-cloud-climate responses to assess and validate the model performance. The project will be guided by Prof Jim Haywood from the University of Exeter and the Met Office, with additional support from Dr Daniel Partridge of the University of Exeter and Dr Andy Jones and Dr Florent Malavelle of the Met Office. A significant amount of time will be spent collaborating with staff at the Met Office/Met Office Hadley Centre.
