Within the framework of the interdisciplinary project Big Data in Atmospheric Physics (BINARY)

four PhD positions in Atmospheric Physics

are available. The project is interdisciplinary work between atmospheric physics and computer sciences at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. The main purpose is the use of machine learning techniques for big data sets in atmospheric physics, e.g. reanalysis data sets and satellite images. In this project we investigate important research questions in the fields of cloud structures and cloud systems aggregation, predictability, and representation of small processes in coarse models.

For more information about the project and applications have a look at the project's web site

or contact us directly at

The applications will be screened immediately until the positions are filled.
