· Are you a full stack software engineer, perhaps with an early career background in academia (weather sciences ideal)?
· Are you interested in working for a hedge fund with offices in the UK, US and Bermuda, a leader in the of field weather-related financial engineering?
· Are you seeking to earn serious money (base £120-£140k with a bonus as well)?
If so, I would be interested to speak with you. Please note that the company in question is seeking senior software developers with a background in either insurance or atmospheric sciences (broader natural hazards are ok too). In other words, you could be a software developer at a (re) insurance company, or perhaps a quant with a background in weather, or even an academic who has made the switch to software development. The long term potential is for the role to become deputy CTO.
Please note we are NOT looking for an academic who does a bit of programming; we are looking for a professional software engineer / developer with a background in weather/atmospheric sciences (PhD not required; a first class degree in any STEM discipline would be ok; the software development experience is more important).
If you are unsure if you fit the bill, please apply and we will let you know if you are suitable. The role is based in London, with occasional travel to Bermuda and the US. Given the current situation, it is likely the role will NOT require travel for some considerable time. Interviews will be conducted by video.
