The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado at Boulder encourages applications for an early career scientist to study the composition and transformation of organic compounds in the atmosphere. The successful candidate will maintain and operate a PTR-ToF-MS instrument and other CIMS instruments, participate in laboratory and field experiments, and perform data analysis to improve our scientific understanding of the effects of volatile chemical products, biomass burning, biogenic, and anthropogenic emissions on air quality and climate.
The position is located in the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Earth System Research Laboratory (NOAA ESRL) in Boulder, CO, and this work will be carried out as part of a team of federal and CIRES scientists in the Chemical Sciences Division (esrl.noaa.gov/csd/groups/csd7) of NOAA ESRL.
