Dear colleagues,

I'd like to alert you to the following advertisement for a licentiate position on climate-fire interactions:

The position is funded for two years with the possibility to extend for a further two years. The successful candidate will be based at the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre at SLU in Alnarp.

This project will analyze climate-fire and ocean-fire linkages for the boreal forests of continental Europe using an array of modern and historical fire and climate datasets. The project will rely heavily on downscaled scenarios from the latest generation of climate models and the use of novel statistical routines for the analysis of climate data. The project is an initiative jointly supported by Swedish Agricultural University (SLU) and Coventry University (CU) and done in close cooperation with Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SHMI).

Please contact Igor Drobyshev ( or Jonathan Eden ( for further details. The deadline for applications is 10 April 2020.

Best regards,

Dr. Jonathan Eden
