In our group “Climate and Water Cycle” at IAC ETH, Zürich, we have open a PhD Position related to Regional Climate Modeling.
The position is part of the interdisciplinary project “Biodiversity, Earth, Climate Coupling in Yunnan” (BECCY), funded through an ETH+ grant, where the overarching goal of this project is to better understand fundamental principles of biodiversity, with a focus in the Hengduan mountains, which is a region of outstanding biodiversity. The PhD-candidate will by performing regional climate modeling, investigate the climate of East Asia during past, current and possibly future time periods, and to assess the role of the Tibetan Plateau’s topography in shaping the monsoon climate.
