Post-doctoral Research Associate in Climate Physics

Imperial College London, South Kensington Campus

Department of Physics and Grantham Institute

Full time, fixed term for 36 months

Salary range: £40,215 – £41,938

Closing date: 8 March 2020

Start date: May 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter

We are seeking to recruit a motivated Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on cloud feedbacks and climate sensitivity. You will join the group of Dr Paulo Ceppi and will be based in the Space and Atmospheric Physics Group, Department of Physics.

You will work within the Circulation, Cloud and Climate Sensitivity (CIRCULATES) research consortium, which focusses on the coupling between clouds, radiation, the large-scale circulation and surface and boundary layer processes. The project aims to advance our quantitative understanding of cloud feedbacks, which dominate the model uncertainty in climate sensitivity estimates. To achieve this new understanding, the project will make joint use of high-resolution modelling, global climate modelling, and satellite observations.

Please contact p.ceppi@imperial.ac.uk for informal enquiries.
