Hi everyone,

Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) is an interdisciplinary research institute in Rostock, Germany.

In the working group of regional climate modelling, we are looking for candidates to fill two positions:

Postdoctoral researcher (tenure track), for 3+2 years with possibility to get a permanent contract after a successful tenure track procedure, starting as soon as possible:

Topic: Atmospheric modelling, develop and evaluate a coupled climate system model and conduct research in particular on the volume, energy, momentum and material fluxes between atmosphere, sea ice and ocean, on the influence of the large-scale circulation of the atmosphere and on climate changes in the Baltic Sea region.

PhD student, for 3 years starting in summer 2020:

Topic: Identify changes in the Baltic Sea and other comparable coastal seas with the help of long-term observations and explain the  causes of the observed changes with the help of existing numerical models. Both statistical methods and sensitivity experiments will be used.

Please apply until March 15!

Best regard, Hagen Radtke
