There is an exciting opportunity to work on interactions between climate and health as part of the new UK Climate Resilience Programme. The successful applicant will join the world-class Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading to help to build the first pilot climate service for health in the UK.
The successful applicant will have skills in scientific programming and data analysis in python and will work with a range of data sources including the new UKCP18 climate projections for the UK, ERA-5 reanalysis data and a range of health and vulnerability data. The post-holder will have the opportunity to work closely with other scientists working on climate resilience and risk estimation. They will also have the opportunity to be at the forefront of the growing area of climate-health interactions and to publish both in the scientific and popular-science literature.
