This is late notice, but we are looking for two PhD students (separate projects) that can start in January 2020. The students should have an MS degree or a minimum of 30 credit hours (at the graduate level) in related areas.
The first project is interdisciplinary and is a coordinated effort between meteorology, civil and aerospace engineering faculty in the College of Engineering and Sciences. The primary focus is wind loading and involves the development of a wireless pressure sensor network and associated wind Lidar measurements.
The second opportunity available is within the Florid Tech College of Aeronautics as part of PEGASAS/FAA efforts that have significant meteorological components broadly concerned with weather technology in the cockpit and include 1) augmented weather interfaces used by aviators and 2) helicopter operations weather information.
Please see attached document for more information.
