Title: Meteorological Analyst
Location: W1, London

Aura Commodities is a London based FinTech company providing advanced insight into commodities. The Weather department provides relevant Meteorological information to members with a particular focus on agriculture and energy. We are seeking a Meteorological Analyst who can join us in our London office. This is an exciting split-role opportunity to grow within a young and dedicated company. Your ideas, experiences and opinion can make a real difference.



Based within the Weather Team your duties will expand on the following responsibilities:

- Support the Meteorology team in monitoring weather conditions and creating timely weather reports for our portfolio.
- Maintain as well as develop weather analytics.
- Undertaking data manipulation projects on a variety of weather data formats and sources while working closely with the software development team.
- Research into new data types that can be utilised in our system.



- An undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a relevant science degree: Meteorology, Climatology or Environmental Physics.
- A minimum of 2 years operational forecasting experience.
- Demonstrable experience of forecasting software development, model data retrieval or data visualisation using Python.
- Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical background.
- Strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- UK/EU resident or valid UK work permit.



- Knowledge or experience of tropical meteorology.
- Experience in statistical modelling.
- Understanding of global teleconnections and their influence on synoptic weather.
- Basic understanding of fundamental agricultural data such as crop cycles.
