Post-doctoral Researcher Position on Observational Constraints on Aerosol-Cloud Interactions

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the dynamic Climate Processes Group within the sub-Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford. The post is available immediately for a fixed-term period of 3 years.

This position will develop novel observational constraints on aerosol-cloud interactions as part of a dynamic team working on the EU H2020 project Constrained aerosol forcing for improved climate projections (FORCeS). A particular focus of this post will be the development of observational constraints from remote-sensing and in-situ measurements and their application to high-resolution and climate models.

The successful candidate will work closely with national and international collaborators and be expected to develop innovative approaches. The results should be presented at national and international meetings as well as published in high-impact publications. Applicants should possess, or be close to completion of a PhD/Doctorate in atmospheric physics or a related field and a strong track-in atmospheric physics.Candidates are expected to demonstrate an excellent understanding of atmospheric physics, a strong background in atmospheric observations or modelling and a demonstrated drive and ability to perform novel research of international standing.

Please direct enquiries about the role to Philip Stier <>.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement, CV and details of two referees as part of your online application. Further particulars and the application form can be found on the Oxford University recruitment webpage:

Only electronic applications received through this form before the deadline of 12.00 midday on 18 December 2019 can be considered.
