Title: Data Scientist for ACTRIS - ENVRI-FAIR

The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) is seeking a highly motivated data scientist for a fixed-term contract within the Atmospheric Composition Unit (IKO). The position is for 2 years starting as soon as possible.
FMI hosts the cloud profiling database for the European research infrastructure ACTRIS (Aerosol, Cloud and Trace Gas InfraStructure network) and is responsible for compiling, archiving and visualizing the large volume of cloud remote sensing data arriving from stations around Europe. This data must also be made accessible to a large scientific community and within the ENVRI-FAIR project ACTRIS is working together with other European Research Infrastructures to ensure that our data services comply with the FAIR principles (https://www.force11.org/group/fairgroup/fairprinciples).
The successful applicant would be responsible for the design, development and implementation of software systems providing data services for the ACTRIS data portal that comply with the FAIR principles.
Candidates must have at least a B.Sc. in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, physics, or other related field). Furthermore, a successful candidate must meet the following essential criteria:
