The Singapore - ETH Centre (SEC) was established as a joint initiative between ETH Zurich – the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF), as part of the NRF’s CREATE campus.
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join us to conduct research in urban heat island (UHI) and thermal comfort in the highly urbanized and industrialized city of Singapore. The candidates are expected to participate in ongoing studies targeting UHI and urban environment modelling and UHI mitigation strategies in the mesoscale, to analyse the numerical results, and to perform other relevant duties when necessary (e.g., prepare datasets for modelling input and paper writing).
The position will be based at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC), with collaboration with other CREATE entities (SMART, TUM-CREATE, and NUS).
The expected starting date is November 2019. The initial appointment is one year, renewable depending on funding availability and satisfactory performance.
- An earned PhD degree (or final year PhD student) in environmental/mechanical engineering, meteorology, physical geography or
related fields is required.
Interested applicants must submit their full CV/resume cover letter and a list of three references (name and contact information). We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
We look forward to receiving your online application including the following documents: cover letter, curriculum vitae, portfolio (if any), and the name of two references, to firstname.lastname@example.org (Lea Ruefenacht)
