[Met-jobs] Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Orographic precipitation in the Indian monsoon
A new post-doctoral research scientist position is available in the IMPROVE project of the Weather & Climate Science for Services Partnership (WCSSP) India.
We are seeking a talented and creative researcher to study orographic precipitation in the Indian summer monsoon in both simple and high resolution models and in the latest observations. The monsoon supplies 80% of annual rainfall to India and much of
that is concentrated on the windward slopes of mountain ranges, but models struggle to accurately represent the processes generating both typical and extreme rainfall on mountains.
You will join the IMPROVE (Indian Monsoon PRecipitation over Orography: Verification and Enhancement of understanding) consortium project. IMPROVE is led by the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) at University of Reading with University of
Leeds. You will also collaborate with an existing postdoctoral research scientist at Reading.
The position is available for 18 months. Please apply as soon as possible on the link below.
