Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Environment and Climate Change Canada (Canada) A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available in the Climate Research Division (CRD) of Environment and Climate Change Canada. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to undertake research on short-duration wind extremes and other climate extremes in Canada. Research will be performed under the supervision of Dr. Alex Cannon and in close collaboration with scientists in CRD and other national institutions. Specific objectives include: (1) research into the main physical drivers that could lead to changes in wind extremes under climate change; (2) analysis of observational datasets and climate model simulations to characterize Canada's extreme wind climate; and (3) use of statistical methods, climate model outputs, and physical insight to project how Canada's wind climate may change in the future. The work will involve manipulation of large volumes of observed and climate model data, as well as development and use of advanced statistical and mathematical methods to analyze data. Location: 4905 Dufferin Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Duration: 1-yr term with possibility of extension Application process: Interested candidates need to apply to the Postdoctoral Research Program (PRP): https://nrcan-rncan.hiringplatform.ca/6355-postdoctoral-research-program-prp/20673-application-form/en. When applying to the PRP you are applying to an inventory. In order to be considered and further assessed for the above-described position, applicants must meet the essential qualifications and clearly identify their education specialization. Application deadline: Applications to the PRP competition are continuously accepted; however, please apply by September 15th, 2019 in order to be considered for this particular postdoctoral research position. Also, please send an email to Dr. Alex Cannon (email@example.com) to let him know you applied. If you have any questions please contact Dr. Alex Cannon. -------- Alex J.
