The Met Office provides an opportunity for talented scientists to apply their skills to real-world problems, with impacts upon services that reach all our lives. Our award-winning Met Office Headquarters in Exeter is home to world-class scientific research teams and computer technology, working to improve our understanding of, and ability to predict, atmosphere, land and ocean aspects of the earth-system. The Met Office, produces and delivers weather forecasts from a range of deterministic and ensemble numerical weather prediction models, which are used to generate a wide array of products to deliver to customers worldwide. Within the organisation, Weather Science (https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/research/weather) provides the scientific and operational capabilities that deliver our short to medium-range weather forecasts.
