A postdoctoral researcher position in Urban Climate Modeling is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The prospective researcher will mainly focus on the influence of building infrastructure on the dynamics of coupled heat and moisture transport in the urban atmospheric boundary layer (ABL). The postdoctoral research associate will also address other open questions related to extreme weather and urban planning. The work will rely on a combination of large eddy simulations and WRF modeling; experience with one or both is thus advantageous. Postdoc candidates should possess a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, geography or engineering. Excellent written English and oral communication skills are required. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, the anticipated start date is February, 2020.
