Application are invited for the post of JRF for the sponsored research project by Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India, to carry out research at the Centre for Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai-600119.

 Project title:  Developing a Virtual Soil Moisture methodology using optical/Thermal and Microwave Satellite Imagery for surface Soil Moisture Mapping

 

Sponsoring Agency:Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India

Principal Investigator:    Dr(Er.).Kishan Singh Rawat (FANSF, SFSN), Scientist E, Centre for Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Jeppiaar Nagar, Chennai-600119

Duration:   3 year

Educational Qualification:               MSc/M.Tech/MPhil in Agriculture/Soil Science/Remote Sinsing/Geoinformatics/Physics/Natural Sciences/ Geography/Geology/Statistic/Hydrology/Environmental Sci./MSc+PG Dip (Remote Sensing)/B.E. or B.Tech. (Civil/Agricultural/Elec.&Electronics/Geoinformatics/Computer Engg./ B.Arch/IT/Geosciences/)+PG Dip (Remote Sensing)/B.Sc. (Forestry/Agriculture, both with 4 years duration course).

Experience/desirable:                        knowledge in satellite Remote Sensing (Microwave) application in Agriculture/Water resource/Natural resource. Candidates having experience in MATLAB and IDL

Emoluments:                                      Rs 25000+30% (HRA) per month

1. The appointment is purely on merit basis and the JRF post is temporary.
