I am hiring a sales person for Science sales in the Western US for Picarro.  Can be based anywhere from California to Colorado to Texas.

West Coast Account Executive

The Opportunity:

Picarro is looking for a seasoned, high-energy, and driven West Coast Account Executive with strong knowledge of, and experience with science markets, instrumentation, and value driven sales. You will be responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development, including market competitiveness and pricing.  The West Coast Account Executive will drive the company’s achievement of its sales volume as well as revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans and strategies for continuously developing our science business for the West Coast and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Proactively seek new revenue streams while responding to quote requests
  • Develop direct relationships with strategic key accounts and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Must have a high dynamic range, able to handle meeting with key customer management and also manage transactional opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally as required and keep all parties apprised of sales activities, concerns and wins
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and 5-10 years sales experience in related industries (Academia, Government Research Labs, Private Research Labs, Test and Measurement, Instrumentation)
  • Strong understanding of sales process and working with a CRM (SalesForce, Dynamics, NetSuite, etc)
  • “Start-up” mentality and keen on working in a small, yet growing environment
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Key mindsets required: a seek to understand mentality and coachability
  • Keen understanding and appreciation of selling into government or large-scale customers with traditionally long sales cycles
  • Willingness to travel as needed (>50%)
  • Preferred location is Santa Clara, CA, but other locations will be considered within West Coast geography
