This message is to solicit applications to the Third ACAM Training School (24-25 June) focused on Satellite Observations and Analysis of Atmospheric Chemistry and Aerosols in the Asian Monsoon region. Last date of training school applications is 15 March. The school will be held in conjunction with the Fourth ACAM Workshop (26-28 June) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Information on these events, instructions for applicants and travel support request is available at:
The specific goal of the training school is to enhance capacity of early career scientists in the areas of atmospheric composition data analysis using satellite remote sensing, model and analysis products.
The 2-day training school will provide lectures and tutorials by international experts (listed below) on using latest and comprehensive global datasets on atmospheric composition.
Ilse Aben (SRON, Netherlands), Bhupesh Adhikary (ICIMOD, Nepal), Federico Fierli (EUMETSAT, EU), Ritesh Gautam (EDF, US), Laura Pan (NCAR, US), Mark Parrington (ECMWF, UK).
Participants will also develop small-scale science projects to apply these datasets in their area of research interests. An online training phase will be organized in advance of the school to have participants familiarized with datasets and discuss their projects with the trainers.
Participants are also expected to register for the Fourth ACAM Workshop at UKM to present their current research and meet colleagues in the ACAM community of scientists.
Information on previous ACAM Training Schools in Bangkok (2015) and Guangzhou (2017) can be found at the links below. These schools each included 35 early career scientists from Asia (students, postdocs) and 10 lecturers from various institutions internationally.
