Research Fellow in Urban Air Quality Modelling
University of Birmingham, UK

An enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated person is sought for a Research
Fellow position to work on a collaborative project "West Midlands Air Quality
Improvement Programme" (WM-Air), a five-year programme funded by the Natural
Environment Research Council. The overall aim of WM-Air is to enable our
stakeholders to reduce the impacts of air pollution upon human health and
economic growth in the West Midlands, translating NERC-funded environmental
science to support regional decision making.

The successful candidate will work with Dr Xiaoming Cai and other project team
members to develop a horizon-scanning modelling tool of air quality impacts
from policy interventions, building upon ADMS and CMAQ to generate air quality
maps of the West Midlands under business-as-usual and alternative future policy
scenarios. They will also communicate with and train end-users in application
of the project outcomes.

This is a fixed-term full time (24-month) position. For further information or
to apply, please see https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/staff/index.aspx (vacancy
number 80093); informal enquiries are welcome to Dr Xiaoming Cai,
x.cai@bham.ac.uk.

Closing date: 13 March 2019
