HURRICANE I/O - Weather technology of the future
Our Helsinki-based startup company specialized in hurricanes is looking for developers/scientists with good programming skills.
Artificial intelligence, new satellite measurements, and weather modification technology allow predicting and modifying weather phenomena that were previously intractable. We have recently won the Copernicus Masters innovation competition and our product has
international demand and with climate change interest is now growing at an accelerating pace. See
Hurricane destruction depends very strongly on its intensity. Our new algorithms give a more accurate picture of hurricane flow and intensity and, in the long run, offer the opportunity to artificially downgrade storms to protect infrastructure, property and
In our small, growing company, you will do programming, software architecture and user interface design and, if you so wish, scientific research on image recognition and hurricane flows. The work requires programming skills. Programming tasks can be difficult
due to the complexity of satellite images and weather data and completing a particular job may require several attempts of different kinds, and we hope that you like these types of challenges and that you have the perseverance to solve difficult problems.
It would be recommended that Python and Tensorflow are somewhat familiar to you. Knowledge in cloud computing is a big plus. Specific knowledge of hurricanes, meteorology, climatology or remote sensing are naturally great merits and in case lacking, it is
important that you are interested to learn about these topics.
Your tasks will be tuned based on your skills and initiatives. We offer a flexible and pleasant work environment and a pay increasing with your performance as well as a stock option program.
You're welcome to get in touch for more information.
