[Met-jobs] PhD projects in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences

There are a number of atmospheric science and climate science related PhD 
projects being advertised at Lancaster University under the ENVISION Doctoral 
Training Partnership for Oct 2019 entry. The deadline for
applications is approaching: Sunday 27th January 2019. For a full list of

We'd be particularly interested in students with a strong numerical background 
and interests in meteorology and/or atmospheric chemistry for the following 
project:

"Street-scale modelling of air quality in Beijing: Explaining spatial 
variability and assessing human exposure"
Supervisors: Prof. Oliver Wild and Dr. Bin Ouyang, in collaboration with Dr. 
Duncan Whyatt (Lancaster) and Prof. Zifa Wang (IAP-CAS Beijing)

The goal of the project is to develop and refine the first high-resolution 
street-scale model of air quality in Beijing, using it to investigate and 
explain the spatial and temporal variability of pollutants at the fine scales 
needed to quantify human exposure. The project will make use of recent and 
ongoing urban air quality measurements and data from sensor networks across 
Beijing, and will involve working closely with colleagues at the Institute of 
Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. For further details,
