PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY
Based in Nantes and Paris (France), D-ICE Engineering offers innovative tools and services for optimizing both offshore and shipping industry. Big data, advanced control, hydrodynamic multibody simulation and route optimization are key competencies to tackle our main objective: reduce fuel consumption and increase safety at sea. Member of several industrial clusters D-ICE works in close collaboration with research laboratories and major industrials and defense groups. Route optimization engineer (permanent)

MISSION
Within the route optimization and metocean studies department, based in Paris, you will be involved:
In the development of operational weather routing support service for both commercial ships and sailing teams
In the improvements of route optimization algorithms 
In statistical routing studies we provide to our clients

As route optimization is a key element for our ambition to provide embedded system for autonomous vessel, you will also contribute to the redaction and execution of project proposals with the other teams of D-ICE (control, software and data processing).
For this position, you master:
Languages: Python, Unix/Bash
Metocean data processing: Grib/Netcdf, NCO
Graph theory and algorithms
BI solutions (powerbi)
Software versioning (Git, Mercurial, SVN) and continuous integration

Your ability to be proactive and versatile are key qualities for this dynamic position.

PROFIL 
You own a Master’s degree or PhD with a specialization in mathematics, informatics or meteorology.
A previous experience in scientific computing is a plus
You are enthusiastic and curious
You have good communication skills
You are really interested in the sailing or shipping industry
You are fluent in English

Route optimization operator (internship)

MISSION
Within the route optimization and metocean studies department, based in Paris, you will be involved:
In the operational weather routing support service for both commercial ships and sailing teams
In the improvements of this service regarding our customer requirements and comments

It this evolving division you will have to be proactive to provide the best routing service to the ship operators. Innovation is our spearhead and we need to keep this advantage.
For this position, you master:
Languages: Python, Unix/Bash
Metocean data processing: Grib/Netcdf, NCO
BI solutions (powerbi)

PROFIL 
You are in a Bachelor or Master’s degree in atmospheric science, physics or informatic
A previous experience in scientific computing is a plus
You are enthusiastic and curious
You are passionate about meteorology and ship routing
You have good communication skills
You are fluent in English

Route optimization BI engineer (internship)

MISSION
Within the route optimization and metocean studies department, based in Paris, you will be involved:
In the development of a BI solution for our operational weather routing service 
In the improvements of this service regarding our customer requirements and comments
In the operational team (in support) for both commercial ships and sailing teams

For this position, you master:
Languages: Python, Unix/Bash
Data processing
Metocean data processing: Grib/Netcdf, NCO
BI solutions (powerbi)

Your ability to be proactive and versatile are key qualities for this dynamic position. You will help to provide the best routing service to the ship operators. Innovation is our spearhead and we need to keep this advantage.
