PhD Position in Arabian Peninsula precipitation variability and predictability

A PhD position is open as part of a joint project between research groups at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), and University of Arizona (UA), USA. The selected candidate will investigate the Arabian Peninsula precipitation variability, extremes, trends, and ultra-fine predictability up to sub-seasonal scales. The position is based at KAUST and extended visits will be organized to the collaborating institution UA.

We are looking for a highly motivated graduate student with strong interests in regional climate modeling. Candidates should possess a solid undergraduate and Masters level academic training in atmospheric sciences, or any closely related fields. Prior research experience in atmospheric modeling, programming in Fortran and high-performance computing will be a big plus.
