The Precipitation Systems Research Group, led by Professor Russ Schumacher, is seeking an outstanding individual to work as a postdoctoral fellow within the research group. This position will conduct collaborative research to advance the prediction of excessive rainfall through post-processing of numerical weather prediction (NWP) model output. This position will also contribute to ongoing work to apply machine learning algorithms to observations and NWP models, and will work alongside NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center (WPC) Hydrometeorology Testbed (HMT) to use these methods to improve WPC forecast products.
