Meteorologist / Modelling Expert

The WeatherTec Team has developed a unique technology to enhance rainfalls even in semi-arid regions. It is a green leading-edge technology, which nearly 2/3 of the world population could benefit from. The technology imitates the ionization process occuring in nature and was developed in cooperation with the experts of Munich LMU, TU, the Max Planck Institute and other international scientific organizations and certificated by TÜV Germany. It was applied in numerous projects in Europe, Australia & Arab Countries.

The company is successfully operating in Jordan since May 1st 2016. WeatherTec imported there the most modern meteorological equipment, such as its own Rain radar, automatic weather stations and developed regional weather forecast model with 2x2  km resolution.

As a Meteorologist, you will work in a team of experienced forecasters and IT specialists. Monitoring the weather through interpreting observations, radar and satellite imagery forms part of the job. You will make detailed forecasts and write scientific reports and refine further our weather forecast model for this unique area (the lowest point on Earth).

Since the weather is a 24/7 business you will, if required, work in shifts, if required, sometimes including weekends, evenings and nights. We are looking for someone who enjoys working together with a team of creative colleagues, all over the world. You may be a part of the team for projects in different Middle-East and African countries and work full-time. This is a unique job opportunity for a Meteorologist because we work in complete Mac environment at the cutting edge of forecasting, modelling and observation with state-of-the -art equipment like Rain radar, drone

Your profile

•       University degree in Meteorology, Physics, Climatology or Environmental science
•       High skills in numerical weather forecasting and modeling to refine our existing model
•       Experience in synoptic weather forecast,
•       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
•       Excellent writing and communication skills in English and, if possible in Arabic/French
•       An ability to work under heavy load and short-term deadlines;
•       You are a strong supportive team player.
