Qi Li is an Assistant Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. Her research interests include using high-resolution computational fluid dynamics modeling and atmospheric boundary layer theories to study the built environment. This is an interdisciplinary research area, which integrates environmental fluid mechanics, micrometeorology, urban climatology, and hydrology. Potential research themes include:

  1. Expansion and development of the next-generation urban climate modeling tools through fundamental understanding of the multi-scale physical processes in the complex urban environment.
  2. Enhancing health, sustainability and resilience of the built environment with innovative engineering solutions under environmental and climatic stressors.

Dr Li is currently looking for 1-2 highly motivated students to join her lab.  Students with strong analytical background (e.g. have had courses of ordinary and partial differential equations, linear algebra, advanced mechanics etc.) and/or numerical skills (e.g. numerical analysis, extensive exposure to coding, parallel-computing, machine learning etc.) are encouraged to reach out to her via email (ql56@cornell.edu) for more detailed information. webpage: http://liresearch.cee.cornell.edu/
