[Met-jobs] Postdoc position at IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Center, Nairobi, Kenya
IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Center (ICPAC) has an opening for a postdoc position for 18 months. The postdoc researcher will work on a project called forecast-based preparedness action (ForPAc: https://www.forpac.org
) which aims to understand the drivers of high impact weather and climate events over Kenya, evaluate and improve predictability of the forecasting methods of these events and encourage the use of forecast for early action.
ForPAc is funded by the DIFD from the UK and it brings together researchers from Sussex University, Oxford University, UK Met Office, ICPAC, Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) and Kenya Red Cross.
The researcher will be based at ICPAC in Nairobi and collaborate with partners from the UK and Kenya. The project provides an opportunity for a researcher visit the UK Met Office and also provide a fund to attend international science conferences.
