The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and
Marine Research (AWI) is a member of the Helmholtz Association
(HGF) and funded by federal and state government. AWI focuses on
polar and marine research in a variety of disciplines such as
biology, oceanography, geology, geochemistry and geophysics thus
allowing multidisciplinary approaches to scientific goals.
with a focus on the Arctic climate system
This position is funded by the Helmholtz Climate Initiative REKLIM (Regional climate change) (www.reklim.de/) and associated with its Topic 1 on “Coupled regional climate models”. This research topic aims at the development of coupled Earth system models for applications of the regional scale.

Employment is limited to two years. There might be an option to extend the position for a third year, depending on potentially upcoming funding. The targeted starting date is October, 2018. The salary will be paid in accordance with the German Tarifvertrag des öffentlichen Dienstes (TVöD Bund), salary level 13. The place of employment will be Potsdam.
