There is an opening at Research Centre Juelich, Germany for "Research Scientist in data analytics and high performance scientific computing in the geosciences".

Job profile:
  • Data assimilation: Develop methods for a parallel data assimilation framework for continental-scale terrestrial systems encompassing all compartments from the groundwater to the atmosphere
  • Big Data: Contribution to solutions of the big data challenge in geoscience, and the application and advancement of data analytics and management strategies
  • Terrestrial systems science: Development and extension of new and existing parallel scientific software tools or processing chains with a focus on the integrated Terrestrial Systems Modeling Platform (TerrSysMP)
  • Service and Support: Porting and scaling of numerical models, profiling and performance optimization, testing, standard implementations, code maintenance
