Apologies for any cross-postings.
A funded PhD position is available at University of Alaska Fairbanks, to study secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation from the oxidation of biogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In collaboration with scientists at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) and several universities, we will develop a new set of chemical mechanism for biogenic VOC oxidation and SOA formation, and then use global models and field observations to study how biogenic SOA formation is influenced by anthropogenic activities and its implication for climate radiative forcing. Applicants with background in atmospheric chemistry modeling (GEOS-Chem, AM3/4, MOZART, CMAQ, MCM etc.) are preferred.
Prospective students should send me an email at email@example.com, with a complete CV and a paragraph describing your research interests. Further information about our group can be found here (https://atmoschem.community.uaf.edu/).
The PhD position can start as soon as the summer of 2018. Please contact me immediately if you are interested.
