In the Dutch NWO-TTW funded project “Probabilistic forecasts of extreme weather utilizing advanced methods from extreme value theory”, in which the statistics group of Delft University of Technology and the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) are collaborating, there is a vacancy for a Postdoc in Probabilistic Extreme Weather Forecasting (application deadline is 10 May 2018). This is a temporary position for a period of 2 years. We are looking for someone who has a PhD degree on statistical and/or machine learning methods including application of these methods to (big) data, preferably in a probabilistic (weather) forecasting framework.

See for more information and how to apply.

Best regards,
Maurice Schmeits.
