We seek two enthusiastic research scientists to work on sub-seasonal prediction as part of a major project funded through the RCUK Global Challenges Research Fund
(GCRF). GCRF-African Science for Weather and Information and Forecasting Techniques (GCRF African-SWIFT) aims to build research capacity and capability in Africa and the UK to improve weather forecasting in Africa on timescales from hours to months.
Based in the National Centre for Atmospheric Science in the University of Reading and in collaboration with partners in the UK and Africa you will undertake research
into intraseasonal variability of African Weather and its representation in operational sub-seasonal prediction models; and contribute to the development and delivery of training in sub-seasonal prediction for research scientists and operational practitioners.
You will have:

A PhD or equivalent research experience in a Physical or Mathematical Science
·
A knowledge of tropical meteorology and operational weather prediction
·
Strong skills in the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets
·
