Ph.D Student Opportunity in Vegetation Ecosystem Modelling - McMaster
University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
The School of Geography and Earth Science, McMaster University,
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada is seeking applications for a Ph.D student to
work on Terrestrial Vegetation Ecosystem Modelling studies, starting May
2018 or September 2018.
The main objective of this research is to further improve
ecohydrological and biogeochemical processes in the Canada Land Surface
Scheme - Canadian Terrestrial Ecosystem Model (CLASS-CTEM+N). CLASS-CTEM
model is part of the Canadian Earth System Model (Can-ESM). This
position is funded through the Southern Forests Water Future project of
the Global Water Futures initiative. Selected student will have
opportunities to collaborate with researchers associated with the Global
Water Future Programme and Climate Research Branch, Ministry of
Environment and Climate Change, Canada.
Past experience and knowledge in land surface schemes or vegetation
ecosystem models and expertise in programing, FORTRAN, Matlab or R is
desired. Students should apply by emailing a cover letter, resume and
