Graduate Student Position
GOES-R All-sky Radiance Data Assimilation for Convective Scale Weather
The Multiscale data Assimilation and Predictability (MAP) Laboratory at the School of Meteorology of University of Oklahoma invites graduate student applicants to conduct research on assimilating GOES-R All-sky radiance data assimilation to improve the prediction and to advance the understanding of convective scale weather. MAP is one of the leading, vibrant and productive labs conducting active research and development in data assimilation for various scales and atmospheric phenomena. The successful candidates will work inside the National Weather Center which houses the University’s academic and research programs in meteorology, state organizations, and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Norman-based weather research and operational programs. Such academic and working environment will provide unique opportunities for the graduate students to build and advance their careers.
