I'd like to call your attention to a posting for a postdoctoral appointee in our department. The primary role of this postdoctoral appointee will be to work on parameterizations of ice nucleation on dust in an atmospheric general
circulation model. Please forward to anyone you think would be interested in applying. The posting will stay open through January, 2018 to advertise at AGU and AMS. I've put this information on a PDF document (attached) to make distribution easier.

This postdoctoral position is a temporary position for up to one year, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to five additional years. The PhD must have been conferred within five years prior to employment.
Individuals in postdoctoral positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
About Our Team
The staff in the Atmospheric Sciences Department (8863) at Sandia National Labs have expertise in atmospheric measurements and modeling. Technical activities cover the spectrum from theory to application, including algorithm development, computer modeling, data inversion, instrumentation and measurement systems development, field demonstration, field campaign execution, and field site management. Particular expertise exists in the measurement and modeling of atmospheric processes in the Arctic including the use of unmanned aerial vehicles such as small fixed wing and rotary aircraft and tethered balloons, as well as the use and cold hardening of measurement systems such as radar and lidar. The department serves as a Laboratories resource for atmospheric sensing expertise.
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation, with teams of specialists focused on cutting-edge work in a broad array of areas. Some of the main reasons we love our jobs:
*These benefits vary by job classification.
This position does not currently require a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted security clearance.
Sandia will conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications. What Your Job Will Be Like
The Atmospheric Sciences Department is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on projects related to global earth system models and global climate models for researching dust aerosols. We are interested in developing and using these models to improve our understanding of atmospheric process of ice nucleation on dust as it relates to laboratory measurements.
