Note: environmental and geophysical fluid dynamics are key areas of research within the CDT.
Funded places available at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Leeds
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Fluid Dynamics brings together diverse areas of expertise in order to train researchers to address engineering and science related problems.
CDT students are funded for 4 years and work in a supportive, cohort environment, creating and developing relationships between teams in Universities and forging lasting links with industry. The CDT also has a taught component to the programme which is designed to support a range of academic backgrounds in building a strong foundation in their field before choosing a PhD project. Students’ PhD research is conducted with the support of outstanding supervisors from across the University, alongside the continuation of professional development activities. These include an industrial or academic placement; workshops; courses; seminars; career training, and much more.
Places available: Up to 10 funded studentships for a 4 year integrated MSc/PhD in Fluid Dynamics available for 2018 entry
Entry requirements: A degree equivalent to a UK first class honours (or a good upper second class) in science or engineering discipline.
Application deadline: 19th January 2018
