We have a great opportunity in our Forecast Research and Development team for someone enthusiastic about and experienced with working with scientists to make a difference in professional software development.  

In the role of Meteorological Developer you will be involved in the development, testing and optimisation of new automated weather forecasting systems in Amazon Web Services. You will advance the continuous integration and development infrastructure, advance the infrastructure as code software and optimise cost and delivery speed.  You will also be responsive to customer requests and dedicated in your support of operations.

Ideally, you have demonstrated experience in developing robust 24/7 operational systems in Amazon Web Services and in using automated continuous integration software Jenkins together with GitHub. You are proficient in the high-level computer language Python but with an understanding of a variety of other computer languages as well. You are experienced with using Docker and Conda for packaging and deployment. You have real world experience using the Amazon Web Services EC2, SWF, SQS, S3, Dynamo DB, and SNS with boto3 Python library. If you know best practices of software design and programming and can base these on years of experience on Linux OS then we would like to hear from you.
