[Met-jobs] two postdoc jobs at Reading on ocean heat uptake and sea level rise

Two three-year positions are being advertised for postdoctoral research
associates in the climate programme of the National Centre for Atmospheric
Science, Department of Meteorology, University of Reading, UK. They are in two
closely related recently funded projects (UKFAFMIP and TICTOC). Both projects
are concerned with ocean heat uptake and sea level change as projected by
coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models (AOGCMs). Efforts to adapt
to or mitigate the problems that will caused by future sea level rise are
compromised by uncertainties in projections, arising from the large spread of
AOGCM results, in both the global mean and the regional patterns. The aim of
the projects is to use new model experiments, diagnostic techniques and
observations to understand and constrain the processes and uncertainties in
projections of regional sea level change due to ocean climate change.

The posts are advertised at
https://jobs.reading.ac.uk/displayjob.aspx?jobid=2127. More details about the
posts can be found there, including further information about the projects in
https://jobs.reading.ac.uk//candidates/PreviewDocument.aspx?docid=2971&GUID=39abe2f1-7f95-4a77-8804-d7095c7f4435&jobid=2127
The closing date for applications is 3rd December, and we would like the people
appointed to take up their posts in the next few months.

As principal investigator, I welcome informal inquiries about these posts.
