Employee in administration (f/m) – European Climate Research Alliance
75% part-time


The European Climate Research Alliance (ECRA) seeks to fill the position of Executive Secretary. We invite scientists to apply who are interested in science management and wish to gain experience in European research organization.

In detail you are responsible for the following tasks:
  • Drafting of strategy and position papers
  • Liaise with the EC and other relevant stakeholders
  • Organisation of international workshops and conferences
  • Act as facilitator for research cooperation on the EU level
  • Responsible for outreach and dissemination activities, e.g. ECRA website, ECRA newsletter, science-policy briefings in the European Parliament
  • Day-to-day management of the ECRA Secretariat, including budget planning and control
The secretariat is presently located in the Helmholtz Office in Brussels and it would be an advantage to work predominantly in Brussels. More information of about ECRA is found under www.ecra-climate.eu.

Personal qualification
  • University degree (Diploma/Master) with relevant work experience and an understanding of the academic sector, preferably in climate research
  • Knowledge of research funding on an EU level
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, advanced knowledge of German would be an asset
  • Excellent scientific and managerial communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • You are self-motivated and proactive and ready to take on responsibilities and propose new ideas
  • Well organised with strong administrative and planning skills
  • Well-versed in the use of office software and web technology, knowledge of the CMS Joomla would be an advantage.
Salary
Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
