The Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), Department of Ecology, Chair of
Climatology offers a PhD position.

Working field:

Execution of numerical model simulations for atmospheric processes in
Central and High Asia. Provision of data products as input data for an
externally developed dynamic landslide susceptibility model with
integrated risk analysis. Data products include the analysis results of
spatially and temporally aggregated 3d and 4d grid­ded data. In addition
to analytical research tasks, the applicant must also carry out
administrative tasks at the computational cluster of the Chair of
Climatology.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent)
in the environmental sciences; knowledge of and experience with
UNIX/Linux operating systems, shell programming, numerical models of
atmospheric processes, as well as with climate data are prerequisites
for this position. In addition, basic knowledge of scientific
pro­gramming with IDL, Python or similar programming languages is
required. It is desirable to have experience in working with the WRF
model, weather forecast (hindcast) and NWP standard procedures, as well
as to have knowledge of climatological research in Asia.
