We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a
Test Data and Tools Engineer
You will be based initially for 2 years at our client’s headquarters in 
Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 3 years may be possible. In this 
large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment 
with challenging tasks and responsibilities.
Your Tasks:
The Service shall provide support for the following test data and tools 
development activities: 
•       Participate in kick-off, progress meetings and delivery reviews for the 
development and production of test data packages; 
•       Generate the data and associated documentation needed for the testing 
activities from a variety of inputs, including reformatting and construction of 
test datasets from multiple sources according to the identified needs and 
schedule; 
•       Provide tools and associated documentation to manipulate and reformat 
the test data according to the identified needs and schedule; 
•       Generate reference and manipulated datasets using the PDG and other 
tools developed to add additional features into the PDG generated manipulated 
datasets; 
•       Verify the consistency of the generated data with respect to the 
applicable documentation; 
•       Maintain the configuration of test data sets and test tools consistent 
with evolutions of the data processing and product content/format 
specifications, within the Test Data Register; 
•       Maintain the Test Data Register and ensure that the associated data 
repository is up to date; 
•       Regenerated test datasets with the assistance of ADaGIO when the need 
arises if the input source data, auxiliary files or generating software is 
updated. 



Your Profile:

In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant 
discipline such as computer science, physics, mathematics or remote sensing, 
the key person shall have a minimum of three years’ experience in software 
engineering for operational processing of satellite or meteorological data. 

Knowledge and experience of the following is mandatory: 
•       Development and manipulation of test data for satellite data or other 
meteorological data; 
•       Rapid development of software tools for test data manipulation; 
•       Configuration control of tools and test data; 
•       Testing, Verification and Validation of data processing systems and/or 
product processors (Level 0, 1 and 2) for satellite data or other 
meteorological data; 
•       Proven experience in the use of data analysis tools, such as 
Matlab/Python and high-level programming, such as C/C++ 

Practical knowledge and demonstrated ability covering as many as possible of 
the following will be an advantage: 
•       The ability to rapidly learn to work with third party tools provided 
for test data production and configuration control; 
•       Development and testing of software in UNIX environments; 
•       Automated regeneration of test data following changes to the generating 
tool or inputs; 
•       The ability to perform under high workloads; 
•       A high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills

The official languages are English and French. The working language for the 
position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work 
effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Good 
communication skills are essential for the fulfilment of the tasks requiring 
interaction.
