Research Associate in Oceanography

 

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher in oceanography to join the GlobalMass project (www.globalmass.eu). The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise during the satellite era and eventually, for the 20th Century by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a statistical inference model.

 

This post requires a background in physical oceanography.  You should, ideally, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of sea level data such as tide gauge records or satellite altimetry or a background in thermosteric and/or ocean heat budget studies. You must have good programming skills. Some experience of numerical modelling would be advantageous.  This post is part of a five year European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget.
